As part of an on-going series, the Poudre Heritage Alliance presents monthly educational pub talks at local establishments throughout Northern Colorado. Join us for a Pub Talk on March 10, 2020, 6-7 pm, at Red Truck Beer Co. in Fort Collins, CO.
Brian Werner, recently retired Public Information Officer for Northern Water, will be discussing the history of water development in the Poudre Basin through stories surrounding the first canal systems and trans-basin diversions such as the Skyline and Grand River ditches. These tales provide an interesting background to some of the water management facilities still in use today, while also helping to define western water law as we know it in the 21st Century.
